Reverse osmosis membrane is a kind of artificial semi-permeable membrane, made of polymer materials, such as cellulose acetate membrane, aromatic polyamide membrane. The diameter of micropores on the surface of the membrane is generally between 0.5 and 10µm. Due to the different pressures on both sides of the reverse osmosis membrane, the raw water penetrates through the reverse osmosis membrane from the side with high salt to the side with low concentration to form reverse osmosis.

Characteristics of reverse osmosis membrane: 

(1) high desalting rate; 

(2) high mechanical strength and service life; 

(3) It is less affected by pH value, temperature and other factors; 

(4) Tolerance to chemical or biochemical effects; 

(5) Easy source of raw materials, simple processing, low cost.

Ⅰ. Single-stage reverse osmosis equipment:

  • Single-stage reverse osmosis equipment refers to the raw water (tap water, surface water, groundwater) after treatment by the pretreatment system and precision filter, and then pumped to the reverse osmosis membrane by high pressure, and then produce pure water, the core component of the whole process is reverse osmosis membrane.

Raw water (tap water, surface water and groundwater) is treated by a pre-treatment system and a precision filter, and then sent to the reverse osmosis unit by a high pressure pump to produce finished water directly. The process is called single stage reverse osmosis.

  • Composition of reverse osmosis equipment:

  • (1). pretreatment system: generally including raw water pump, dosing device, quartz sand filter, activated carbon filter, precision filter, etc. Its main function is to reduce the pollution index of raw water and other impurities such as residual chlorine, so as to meet the influent requirements of reverse osmosis. The equipment configuration of pretreatment system should be determined according to the specific situation of raw water.

(2). reverse osmosis system: mainly includes multistage high pressure pump, reverse osmosis membrane element, membrane shell (pressure vessel), bracket and so on. Its main function is to remove impurities in the water, so that the effluent can meet the requirements of use.

(3). cleaning system: mainly consists of cleaning water tank, cleaning water pump, precision filter. When the effluent index of the reverse osmosis system is polluted and cannot meet the requirements, it is necessary to clean the reverse osmosis system to restore its function.

(4). Electrical control system: it is used to control the normal operation of the whole reverse osmosis system. Including dashboard, control panel, all kinds of electrical protection, electrical control cabinet, etc.

Ⅱ. Double-stage reverse osmosis equipment:

The working process of the two-stage reverse osmosis equipment is that the raw water is pressurized to the pretreatment system after coarse filtration, and then filtered by the precision filter, and then pressurized to the first-stage reverse osmosis system by the first-stage high pressure pump. The produced water is then pressurized to the second-stage reverse osmosis system by the two-stage high pressure pump, and finally the product water is produced. The process is called two-stage reverse osmosis.

Ⅲ.Main application field

1. Purified drinking water, distilled water, mineral water, wine brewing water and pure blending water in the beverage (including alcohol) industry;
