Principle:
Softening water equipment, mainly by removing the calcium and magnesium ions in the water, reduce the hardness of the water equipment,Since the hardness of water is mainly formed and expressed by calcium and magnesium, the cation exchange resin (water softener) is generally used to exchange the hardness components Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the water with Na+ in the resin, so as to adsorb the Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the water and soften the water. With the increase of Ca2+ and Mg2+ in the resin, the removal efficiency of Ca2+ and Mg2+ decreased gradually. When the resin absorbs a certain amount of calcium and magnesium ions, it must be regenerated, and the regeneration process is to wash the resin layer with salt water in the salt box, and replace the hardness ions on the resin, and then discharge the recycled waste liquid outside the tank, and the resin recovers the softening exchange function.
The working process of the softening equipment includes five processes: water production, backwashing, salt absorption (regeneration), slow washing (replacement) and fast washing.
Backwash: When the equipment works for a period of time, it will intercept a lot of dirt brought by raw water on the upper part of the resin, and after the dirt is removed, the ion exchange resin can be fully exposed and the regeneration effect can be guaranteed. The backwash process is when water washes in from the bottom of the resin and out from the top, which can wash away the dirt trapped by the top. This process usually takes about 5-15 minutes.
Salt absorption (regeneration) : The process of injecting salt water into the resin tank, using the method of slowly flowing salt through the resin to regenerate, this process generally takes about 30 minutes, the actual time is affected by the amount of salt used.
Slow flushing (replacement) : After the salt water flows through the resin, the raw water slowly washes all the salts in the resin at the same flow rate, this process is called slow flushing, is the main process of regeneration, this process is called replacement. This process is generally the same as the time it takes to absorb salt, that is, about 30 minutes.
Fast flushing: In order to thoroughly wash the residual salt, the resin should be washed with raw water at a flow rate close to the actual work, and the final outlet water of this process should be compliant soft water. Under normal circumstances, the fast rinse process takes 5-15 minutes.
Application range:
Widely used in steam boiler, hot water boiler, exchanger, evaporative condenser, air conditioning, direct gas turbine and other systems of make-up water softening. It can also be used for the treatment of domestic water in hotels, restaurants, office buildings, apartments, homes, and softened water treatment in food, beverage, brewing, laundry, printing and dyeing, chemical industry, medicine and other industries.
